I had about four feet of dead air above my folded clothes. Once I started stacking vertically instead of horizontally, it felt like I unlocked a secret second closet I never knew I had.

Every time I pulled one sweater off my shelf, three more would tumble down. Dividers and bins turned my chaotic shelves into something that actually holds its shape when I grab something in a rush.

One closet rod holding everything is like one shelf in a kitchen. I added a second rod below and switched to slim hangers, and I went from cramming 40 items to comfortably fitting over 80.

The back of my closet door was doing absolutely nothing. Same with the side walls. Once I started treating those surfaces as storage real estate, I found room for accessories, bags, and shoes I thought I'd have to give away.

The bottom of my closet was a graveyard of shoes and bags piled on top of each other. Stackable racks and corner shelves turned that dead zone into organized rows. I actually found a pair of boots I thought I'd lost.
