We live on a road with fourteen potholes between home and daycare. I counted. These cups didn't leak through a single one.

My daughter only drinks from straws, which meant every cup leaked from that one weak point. These finally solved it.

Nothing worse than warm milk on a summer road trip. My kids reject lukewarm anything, so these became non-negotiable from June through September.

When my daughter refused anything with a spout or straw and wanted to drink like a grown-up at age two, these were the compromise that saved our car interior.

Water is forgiving. Milk is not. Spilled milk in a car seat in August taught me to be extremely picky about which cups carry dairy.

I once found mold inside a sippy cup valve I thought I'd cleaned thoroughly. After that horror, I only buy cups I can fully disassemble and see every surface.

Heavy cups plus tiny hands equals dropped cups. My son couldn't hold most insulated bottles until I found ones that were actually sized for a two-year-old's grip.

Learned the hard way that half the toddler cups on the market are either too wide or too narrow for car cup holders. Measured mine and only kept the ones that actually fit.

Around age three, my kids wanted real water bottles like the big kids at preschool. These bridged the gap without sacrificing spill protection in the car.

My son went through a phase where he launched his cup at the window every single car ride. I needed cups that could survive impact without cracking or popping open.

Plenty of our drives happen around bedtime, and my kids fall asleep holding their cups at impossible angles. Needed something that wouldn't create a puddle while they dozed off.

One cup is never enough. I keep backups in the glove box, diaper bag, and under the stroller because the moment you forget one, that's the drive where everything goes wrong.
