Great choices to explore Washington
One of my favorite areas to hike... there are at least 4 different trails to get to the top and each one is beautiful and of varying lengths and difficulties. You can see all the surrounding mountains if you're up there on a clear day... Mt Hood, Mou...
Silver Star Scenic Area
Deemed one of the scariest (but amazingly beautiful) hikes in Washington!
Whittier Ridge-Lakes Loop
It’s only 8.6 miles round trip and if you’re lucky you can glissade down. It's an 8684’ elevation gain; average time to finish is 7-12 hours. You can camp the night before at the Climbers Bivouac to get an early start.
Mount Saint Helens Summit via Ptarmigan Trail, Washington
Gorgeous place to hike and camp... variety of trails. Huckleberry season is the best!!! But watch out for mosquitos in August... You could get caught in a thick blanket of them and it's the only way to go through to get back to your car. Blue Lake is...
Indian Heaven Wilderness
Great challenging hike... Heart Break Ridge is aptly named... If you know you know
Table Mountain
Best trail for a waterfall and a gorgeous view of the Columbia River Gorge. Can either go up and down or continue at the top to do a loop. Fun trail to run down.

Beautiful clear lake in Indian Heaven!

Nice short out and back hike that ends at a rocky talus area with Indian pits
Wind Mountain — Washington Trails Association
Nice hike that’s doesn’t require a parking pass. You can go up and down to the Nancy Russell overlook, which is a nice spot to sit and have a picnic. There are couple other nice overlooks to hang out at as well. In season you can pick huckleberries, ...
Cape Horn — Washington Trails Association
Gorgeous place to hike and disperse camp. Each waterfall you pass is prettier than the last. The trail is relatively flat in a lot of sections; little kids can ride their bikes. If you go past Chinook falls and cross the river to go to Wildcat, you'l...
Siouxon Creek Trail— Washington Trails Association
A favorite! It's about 10 miles out and back. Even though the start of the trailhead says no camping, there is a camp spot just before the falls. Nice rock to jump off of, and some cool log bridges to cross along the trail.
Black Hole Falls — Washington Trails Association
Oregon Hikes
Gorgeous loop hike... will need to cross the Sandy River so proceed with caution if you do so. Log crossings can get slippery. There are areas to camp past the waterfall.
Ramona Falls Trailhead
Great spot to see the Gorge
Angel's Rest, Oregon - 10414 Reviews, Map
Awesome trail at the top of Multnomah Falls... Beautiful out and back trail that goes along the water leading to more waterfalls!

Oregon Coast Trail
Beautiful spot to hang out with your family. Surfer’s paradise. Plenty of parking, short trail to the beach through a beautiful forest trail. Bathrooms at the end of the trail at the beach. Small waterfall to the right, nice tide pool to the left. Sc...
Short Sand Beach Trail, Oregon - AKA Smugglers Cove
A beautiful hike that'll take you to this stone hut. Gorgeous views of Mt Hood (if you're lucky and there early enough, you can see the sun rise behind the mountain on one part of the trail)
McNeil Point Trail, Oregon - 3823 Reviews, Map
Gorgeous hike that's able to accommodate different levels of hikers; the elevation gain is about 1000' over the 8.3 mile loop. You can walk behind half of the falls... heart pounding to stand behind the curtains of water and listen to the rumble. Loc...
