Last July I photographed an outdoor wedding in Texas and my makeup had to last 10 hours in direct sun. These sprays were the only ones still holding by the reception.

Before I figured out primers, my setting spray was fighting a losing battle. These go underneath everything and act like double-sided tape for your foundation.

No setting spray can save a foundation that wasn't built for heat. Learned that the hard way after ruining two white pillowcases in one summer.

Setting powder over foundation, under setting spray. That's the three-layer method that finally stopped my makeup from budging. These powders don't turn chalky in photos either.

Sometimes you can't reapply anything, you just need to soak up the oil and keep moving. These saved me during lunch breaks and between meetings all last summer.

Raccoon eyes at a summer barbecue taught me this lesson permanently. Now everything near my eyes is waterproof or it doesn't go on my face between June and September.

Started prepping my skin differently in summer and my makeup immediately performed better. Hydrated, cool skin holds product way longer than dry, overheated skin.
