If you're looking for a small campsite to stay and explore the region, I would recommend this one in Carces, a village in the centre of the Var region. Mobile homes can be rented and it is within easy walking distance of the village.

Arguably the best place to stay on the best beach in the south of France, Pampelonne Beach, near to St Tropez. Stay in a Tiki hut right on the sea front. A good range of restaurants, swimming pool and a spa.

Hire a canoe, paddleboard or pedalo to travel up the gorge and see this amazing river gorge. Perfect azure water although very icy to swim in! Lots of hikes and surrounding walks as well
The Verdon Gorge
Cotignac has the reputation of being one of the most beautiful villages in France. A historic medieval village with a great market every Tuesday, it is full of small boutiques and great places to eat and drink.

A visit to the Var is not complete without visiting St Tropez. Great for luxury shopping and people watching. The market is on Tuesdays and Saturdays and is well worth a visit. Tip - go early in the summer as it does get very busy!
