This is only my opinion, so some may have different feelings but I think these are the best smash burgers you can find in Chicago!!! If anyone has any I haven’t listed but should try, drop a comment because I want to try them ALL!!!

The Region - Handcrafted Hamburgers
This burger is simple but packs so much flavor! And the shoestring fries are delish. I usually order my burgers without pickles but trust me on this - order this burger as is…no changes!!!
Little Bad Wolf
Touted as the best burger in Chicago and it’s definitely in my top three. It’s very rich and there can be super long wait times but I think it’s worth it.
Au Cheval
If you live on the north side and don’t want to deal with lines or the hefty price tag, small cheval is a great option for au cheval lovers!
Small Cheval- Riverside
Great burgers - great vibes - fun names - good time! My honest opinion is that they’re not as good as they used to be but still a superior burger!

Bacon jam - need I say more? Get their burgers at Spilt Milk Tavern!

Don’t get me wrong, I love a fancy burger but sometimes all you need is a no frills good ol burger and that’s what you get here!

This is the Mid-Wests answer to In-n-Out and I’d say it’s even better!! Multiple locations around Chicago but I go to the one near Loyola University!
SALT burgers + fries
They do a standard smashburger but also unique takes on them as well like their Crunchwrap smashburger smashburger loaded fries!! Definitely worth checking out.

I know this is NOT in Chicago BUT Joyland in Nashville has my ALL TIME FAVORITE burger. They call it the “crust burger” and it is outrageously delicious. You NEED to try it if you’re ever there!
