I have lived in Louisville for going on 30 years. I don't always eat local and this list reflects that. I only list good deals and places you can eat for way under 20 bucks a person.
I love this place. The food is fresh and delicious, the bubble tea is popping and the owner's are so kind and welcoming. There are games to play, desserts and delicious Vietnamese food.

I know this place is EVERYWHERE and perhaps it is not authentic, however it is delicious and so resonably priced.
El Nopal Mexican Cuisine - El Nopal
This place is a little intimidating but the food makes the place the burgers are big and delicious and the fried pickles make me happy.

Circle K: Convenience Store & Gas Station
Another chain I know. But locally we have dinner specials and on Wednesdays you can get a giant burger with bottomless fries for 7.99. Can't beat it.
Tumbleweed – Tex Mex Grill
This place is a bare bones Chinese food with good food and good prices.
Another chain and honestly I don't love this place. Plus it is kind of pricey HOWEVER the tofu pad Thai is worth every penny. I dream about it.
America's #1 Asian Bistro | P.F. Chang's
This place is local to kentucky and it is so good. Spicy though beware.
Indi's Chicken - Fast Food Restaurant
This one. The salsa is delicious and on Tuesdays the street tacos are a dollar. Only 2 bucks every day. I only eat those so I can't comment on the other menu items.
