How to make your dorm a home away from home. Option 1: Pack the basics and buy what you need when you get to college. Cons: the first couple weeks, the mailroom is crowded and packages might get lost. Or you get whatever is left at the stores near campus. If you have no access to a car, you might need several trips. Option 2: fly With your stuff. Southwest allows two free bags per person. Option 3: buy in advance and stuff it in the car with IKEA blue bags, compression bags, etc. (As of summer 2023, Target is offering a one time 20% off special for a purchase made by someone with a college ID).
