Arch Enemy is my absolute favorite gallery in Philly. Their collection of artists is second to none in the city. Boasting both group and solo features you will always find something you will love here.
Arch Enemy Arts
Another fantastic gallery within walking distance from Arch Enemy. They keep the caliber of artist on view high with each show.
Paradigm Gallery + Studio
So many amazing shows I've seen at this outdoor venue. Highly recommended, bring a blanket or some chairs to enjoy the show from the lawn or get stuck in the pit for an amazing show.
Skyline Stage at the Mann
Shopping
A fantastic little shop offering small artist made goods with a Philly flare. You can pick up shirts, stickers, pins, and all sorts of Philly themed home goods. The cheesesteak “Wiz Kid” shirt is a favorite for my little dude.
Philadelphia Independents
This is my local source for art supplies. Great selection and the staff is super knowledgeable.
Artist & Craftsman Sup…
This event is normally held at the 23rd Street Armory and is always a blast. Two days of amazing artists, oddities, and vintage gear. And each day has different vendors, so you can make a whole weekend of shopping. They have multiple events throughou...
Punk Rock Flea Market - Philadelphia
Food
Best Ice Cream on Market Street. You get that classic soda fountain vibe with some amazing flavors. My favorites are the Coconut and the Honeycomb. The wife loves their Cherry Butter Almond.
The Franklin Fountain
One of the best breakfasts in the city. Cozy atmosphere. Get there early as it can fill up fast. Or get it to go and eat at one of the many historical sites or parks open to the public.
Eggcellent Cafe
The best bagel this city has to offer.
Kismet Bagels
If you like your donuts on the cakier side this place is for you. And their chicken is just as good.
Federal Donuts
If yeasted donuts are more your speed, this is the place for you. Don't let the fact that they are vegan dissuade you. These are hands down so good. Their Dunkaroo donut is out of this world.
Dottie's Donuts
This is a favorite for my wife and I when we want to go celebrate. The Brazilian steakhouse experience is amazing. And if you are local, get one the WMMR radio newsletter for their Big Freakin' Deal. Chima comes up occasionally and you can get two di...
Chima Steakhouse: The Authentic Steakhouse Experience
Cheesesteaks
This is by no means a ranking of the top, but these are my personal favorite cheesesteaks throughout the city.
This is my staple Philly cheesesteak. Go with the classic Wiz Wit and you won't be disappointed. Though their American cheese it a great hit too.
Jim's South St.
Here in the Northeast this is one of the new styles of steak rocking Cooper Sharp. Fantastic steak.
Café Carmela
There recommendation is the American cheese on their steaks and I can agree. Bring a friend as these steaks are packed to the brim. But definitely don't sleep on their Roast Pork sandwich, best in the city and worth the wait in the line for both.
John's Roast Pork
Coffee
My favorite coffee roaster in the city. Some of the best blends I've had. The PAWS Roast and Colombian Tolima are my go to roasts to pick up.
Bean2Bean Coffee Compa…
Another fantastic coffee roaster here in the city.
ReAnimator Coffee | Specialty Coffee Roaster
Not as prevalent as some of the others but a damn fine cup of coffee.
Elixr Coffee Roasters
Kid Friendly
So not in Philly, it's actually a got hour and a half out of the way but its a great experience for kids and parents alike. Worth the trip and your kids can create their own specially named crayon or marker as a souvenir.
