My favorite historical place to walk around. You can walk the grounds for free or pay for a pass to get inside the buildings.
Colonial Williamsburg
A great living history site to visit. People dressed in time period clothing. Demonstrations of cooking or work that was done on the settlement.
Jamestown Settlement
A cute, family run farm with lots of animals to pet, corn mazes and hayrides in season, and a little cafe with delicious ice cream and yummy sandwiches.
Bergey's Barnyard
A favorite rainy day or winter time destination.
Children's Museum of Virginia
Our favorite stop on the way to the OBX - fun food trucks, yummy treats, and fresh produce.
Morris Farm Market
A Hampton Roads classic. Great playgrounds, walking paths, and hills to climb or roll down.
Mount Trashmore Park
FAVORITE sandwich shop. A little pricey, but a food is fresh and good.
TASTE
Great place for hiking trails. Some wooded, some along the marsh, and some along the bay. Beautiful place to spot birds and other animals.
First Landing State Park
Hear me out - the pizza is good, but the bbq chicken salad is AMAZING. Must try it. Fun casual place to eat out.
Shorebreak Pizza & Taphouse - Pungo
Top 5 favorite ice cream stops. 🤗
Lolly's Creamery
Try the Mediterranean pizza. Oh my gosh, so good.
Chesapeake Pizza
Perfect date night locations. Early happy hour deals are great. You do need a reservation though!
Heirloom
Great walking/running trail. Good for kids to bring their bikes. Good spots for fishing. One fun playground.
Oak Grove Park
Admission is a little pricey, but makes for a fun field trip, rainy day outing, or winter time outing!
Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center
Must visit if you have boys! Their dinosaur play area outside provides lots of space to play, explore, and learn.
