I would have never known to insulate outlets and switches but I saw these in the store and tried them out. Basically, they go behind all your outlet covers, especially ones on outside walls. You would be amazed the gaps between the outlet boxes.

So I have been working on weatherizing my house to help with the power bill. The first thing I learned was to fill all cracks leading to the outside so you will need some sort of caulking tool. Ace Hardware is my go to place for home repair items.

Spend some extra money on good curtains that block UV Rays. The difference with and without the curtains is extremely noticeable.

With all the caulking, you will need a sanding block of some sort. I prefer the wet sanding blocks because there is less dust, but find the one that works best for you.
