These are the sites, apps, and ways I earn the majority of my money outside of my 9-5
And no these aren't sites/apps that will pay $0.20 for 10 minutes of work!
User Interviews is a research platform that connects participants with companies and researchers looking for feedback.
Payment is via choice of a range of digital gift cards such as Amazon, Nintendo & Apple.
The studies are quite niche so relating to the industry you work in so as someone from a HR background I have given feedback on software for $40.00 but there are also unmoderated studies where you can earn $10.00.
Simply the best study/survey site you will find out there! I have been using Prolific the past 5 years and it continues to pay me well. They pay a minimum per/hour rate and the studies are wide and varied so you can pick and choose which ones you fan...
There is not referral link and there is a waiting list for new participants currently.
You will need to earn a minimum of £6.00 to cash out to PayPal and payment of the studies you complete are either in pounds or dollars depending when their researcher is based.
Prolific
A passive way to earn yourself points towards purchasing gift cards by using Bing as your search engine or just simply completing the daily tasks. Personally I can't tolerate how useless Bing is for the results so I only use it on my work computer. T...
I also have the Bing app installed on my phone because you can do daily check-ins/searches to get yourself an additional 1,000 points each week!
Get paid for recording video responses with Influence - get £0.25 per video but I also got paid £0.63 for when I recorded a video response for a brand.
The video prompts aren't too thought provoking so you won't struggle to think of an answer e.g.
- What's one whimsical or imaginative goal you want to achieve in 2025. - What's a dream project you want to start or complete in 2025. - Tell us about your shopping habits this past week. - What's a simple thing that makes you smile.
If you sign up with my link https://bit.ly/3WKzopQ and record your first video then we will both get £1.00.
Please note that you will need to earn a minimum of £10.00 to cash out to PayPal.
Influence - Paid Video Surveys
Askable is a user research recruitment platform. It's not a regular earner, in the 2 months I've used it I've made £60.00. I gave feedback on betting websites and one short survey where I got £5 for 5 minutes work.
They will pay out to PayPal but also an e-gift card.
Askable
UserCrowd pays you to give feedback on websites, apps, and test prototypes. The studies will either need to be completed on mobile or desktop.
The mobile studies will pay between $0.20-0.60, whereas the desktop studies will generally be longer and involve screensharing and you speaking your thoughts. Whenever there is a new study they will notify you. Some studies have screeners and even if...
UserCrowd
Respondent is a site where you are paid to participate in market research projects by completing surveys, interviews, product testing, and focus groups.
It's not a regular earner for me as you need to complete a screener for each project and they won't always be a fit i.e. a project looking for Financial Advisors, Portfolio Managers & Risk Experts.
The projects are quite industry/employment based so if you work in finance I would say you'll find plenty of studies to complete.
Google Opinion Rewards earns you money by answering surveys and sharing pictures of the receipts of stores you visited. You will only be paid in Google Play Points to spend on the Play Store. As a point of principal I only use what I earn on this app...
I've attached what I earn from the surveys/receipt tasks. If you haven't visited a store they will still give you £0.01 for answering.
Similar to Askable there is Dscout. You give feedback on applications, websites, and prototypes. You'll get screened out of many of the studies you apply for but it's worth the daily check in to see what studies you can get.
TestingTime is similar to User Interviews, where you can participate in market research and paid studies such as product tests, interviews, focus groups, and surveys.
It's not my most lucrative site, as you need to be selected to when you submit an application - I've completed two studies in 2025 for referenc.
inCompass is a marketing research panel that rewards UK residents whose app you will install on your phone and it monitor what you’ve been watching on TV, listening to on the radio, and monitor how you use your smartphone, as well as picking up your ...
I have the app installed on my phone & laptop and that gets me 125 points (£12.50) every month. The points can be redeemed on their online catalogue which is mostly products from John Lewis.
Pros: - Passively earn money every money
Cons: - Drains your battery significantly if you have an older phone

NielsenIQ Scanning Panel is a consumer research program where people scan their purchases so they can understand consumers' shopping habits and the prices.
Simply download the app, scan barcodes of products you buy and sometimes you get surveys for additonal points.
The points can be redeemed on their catalogue for vouchers. For reference 2,961 points equates to £25 worth of a voucher.
I don't think the Scanning Panel is the biggest earner but I live close by a supermarket and do many wee shops so not bad when you'll only scan 5 items at a time (I don't bother when I am doing my big weekly shops)
Similar with Nielsen IQ Scanning Panel there is Kantar Shop & Scan.
I get 120 points (£1,20) each week I scan and if I scan shopping 3 times in the week they give you and additional 400 points. Points can be redeemed for vouchers on their catalogue.
Similar to Amazon Shopper Panel there is Clear! I believe this is currently only available in the UK.
