We’ve been lucky to have traveled to Santorini and Mykonos, and while I thought they were awesome, it felt like they were swarming with Americans trying to get the perfect selfie and overpriced restaurants and hotels. We did a lot of research and decided to travel to Sifnos, and it did not disappoint – everything I hoped for in a Greek island. Incredible views, wonderful people, delicious restaurants, gorgeous beaches. It was a bit of a journey to get here (fly to Santorini and 2.5 hour ferry, or fly to Milos and 45 min ferry) but we definitely hope to be back! Here are some of our faves.

Some ideas for a daytrip to Tarrytown! If you can, sit on the left side of the train when you’re heading there from NYC and the right side on the way back to NYC for the best river views. And wear comfy shoes (a general good life rec) especially if planning to walk up the pretty steep hill from the train station to the bottom of Main Street. We spent 4 full days / 5 nights in Malta in December 2023 and had a fantastic time, and wanted to share some of the things we loved. For context, we've traveled around Europe quite a bit (my husband is Swiss) and we were looking for an easy destination to get to from Switzerland with nice winter weather and fun/interesting things to do. Malta exceeded all of our expectations. I definitely recommend, and would think of it as an exciting long weekend destination to visit (on par with visiting a single European city)but wouldn't choose it over a multi-spot trip to a MUCH larger country like Italy. Things we especially liked: lots of history, clean and easy to get around, lovely people, great weather, excellent accommodation, kid-friendly, very good dining.
