I love historical fiction because I love to learn about different cultures and time periods. When the books also incorporate strong female friendships, or interesting twists, I'm in love.
I LOVED this book!!! Historical fiction is my favorite genre, and I'm also fascinated by ancient Chinese culture and eastern medicine. This one checked all the boxes.

Brilliant. I love historical fiction, and learning about Russian culture. This was such a well-told story with a great twist at the end. Highly recommend!

Another historical fiction gem. This time I got to learn about the code breakers during WWII. So good!

Loved this book. Once again, it's girls helping girls out, with a bit of a dark twist. I'm super into herbs and herbal medicines, so this was another reason why I thought this book was great.

Wow. This book is like a fantastical love letter to stories. I was swallowed up into this magical world and sad when the story was over.

I read this because my cousin told me to… And ended up loving it. Fantasy is generally not the genre I reach for, but this was like historical fiction that was also highly descriptive and thoroughly enjoyable.
