What happens in Vegas doesn't always need to stay in Vegas. Let me share some of the places and things I enjoyed in the 7 years I lived there. Note: majority will be away from The Strip because as a local, we try to avoid that area 😅

The best place to get pancakes! My favorite was their German Chocolate Pancake. I also enjoyed their omelettes and adobo fried rice.
BabyStacks Cafe: Breakfast In Las Vegas
Â
I enjoyed their steak and the fact that they wear pajamas. They do get quite busy, best time would be first thing in the morning. They open at 7 but close at 3pm.

Asian Restaurants
Honestly, there are a lot of restaurants that I enjoyed but here are a few that I can think of at the top of my head.
Â
They had the best fried calamari so idk why they removed it from their menu… but I like their oxtail fries and fried rice, and if you want some over the top pho, you can find it here.
District One Kitchen and Bar Las Vegas

Â
They have the best spring rolls and their pho broth is delicious. This place does get pretty busy but I never had to wait to be seated, just long wait times for your food to arrive once ordered. But it's worth the wait!
Viet Noodle Bar
Â
This is always a go-to with extended family and it never disappoints. They aren’t as busy as other pho places so never usually a wait.
Pho So 1 - Vietnamese - Yelp
Â
Our go-to close to our then home. It’s a pretty small pho spot on Rainbow.
Jenni Phở
Â
I'm Laotian so I am picky when it comes to Lao/Thai food. But this is some real authentic food and everything is almost as good as my mom's cooking.
Laos Thai Street Food
Â
My all time favorite Hawaiian spot. A bit more pricey but worth it. I'm picky when it comes to mac salad but theirs actually has flavor. Everything here is good IMO but my go to was a mixed plate with teriyaki chicken and Kalbi. Super busy place so o...
Island Flavor | Hawaiian Restaurant
Â
Another Hawaiian spot when I didn't want to spend Island Flavor money. Good portion sizes. I always have enough food for two meals.
Ohana Hawaiian BBQ - Las Vegas
Non-Asian Food
Â
The best seafood boil in town! I always get their signature sauce in medium spice and it’s a good amount of spice coming from someone who eats a lot of spicy. I usually get 1/2 a pound of shrimp with corn, potatoes, and andouille sausage. Everything ...
Our Delicious Menu | Hot N Juicy Crawfish
Â
Our favorite for happy hour. We always get fried calamari as one of our appetizers. I usually get their Garlic Noodles, it's my fav. & their Pink Dragon, Watermelon Margarita, and Moscow Mules are yum! Catch them during their happy hour! Their ap...
Las Vegas - The LINQ | Locations | Yard House Restaurant
Â
Pricey but their Chicken & Waffles are muy bien!
Yardbird Table & Bar
Â
Love their sweet potato fries, fried pickles, Cow Bowl, & Meltdown Sandwich.
SkinnyFATS
Â
Excellent food and jumbo margaritas! Need I say more?
Lindo Michoacan - Las Vegas
Â
Their mezcals and frozen margaritas are the best. Their salsa and guac taste fresh and the chips are made in house. I've tried several dishes here and I have not one bad things to say about it.
I am not too big on sweets but I love a good coffee/tea!
Â
My absolute favorite little cafe. Everything from their teas, desserts, to their food I enjoyed. This was my go-to especially when I was in school and needed a place to study & do HW.
LA LUNA TEA AND DESSERT BAR - Updated January 2025
Â
This place has such a warm and inviting atmosphere. Much bigger than other cafe's I frequent. Their Butterfly Latte is delish! And the only food I've tried there was their Salmon Brioche and that was also good.
Gabi Coffee & Bakery
Â
Very cutesy, very demure, very girly. The cutest place to dress up and have a tea party with your girls!
We ate here more than I'd like to admit. They're Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger was my shit. Everything is made to order and as fresh as a fast food can be.
Farmer Boys
Â
Love their fried chicken and peach mango pies. Also, their spaghetti is good, but it might be an acquired taste to some, as it is sweet.
Jollibee - Las Vegas, Nevada
Â
I'm not typically a fan of hot dogs but I really enjoyed their DUI dog. But I've tried almost all of them and they were all pretty good. Â Haven't been to the one on The Strip but the one on Rainbow had a nice atmosphere and I love all the artwork/old school rappers on their wall.
Dirt Dog
Parks & Family Friendly Activities
One thing about Vegas, is they have some pretty cool parks and lots of them!
Â
This park is huge. Lots of walking trails, wildlife, picnic areas, fishing pond, historic buildings, etc. We had a blast here. My son had fun following the baby ducks and geese. Make sure to bring a lunch & snacks! It’s $6 per car to get in.
Floyd Lamb Park
Â
Large playground area with splash pad, lots of grassy areas, and they have a small hiking trail/mountain, once you get to the top, you can see the SW side of Vegas and The Strip. I used to hike here often!
Exploration Peak Park
Â
This park has everything! & it’s not your average playground. They have so much to do! Volleyball and pickleball courts, soccer fields, splash pad, dog park, trails, etc all on the NW side of town.
Centennial Hills Park
Â
This was our go-to indoor playground. Large play area & decent food. On the weekends, it can get quite busy tho because of the birthday parties.
Home - LOL KIDS CLUB
Â
Such a cute little place! They have mini arcade games, a bounce house, a playground, ball pit, etc. I think this place would be best for 6 and under. I love that the arcade games were small enough for my toddler at the time to play without my help.
Kid’s Planet
Things To Do
Â
Hike and chill in one of Vegas' hot springs. It's quite a long hike there and back, lots of rock climbing that already has ropes provided.. but they were doable for someone who doesn't rock climb. But if you are not an active person, this hike may no...
Our go-to bar.. the one specifically on Flamingo is always poppin.
PKWY Tavern Flamingo
Â
This bar DT is large, lots of bar activities inside and out.
Gold Spike
Â
Smaller but always played good music, and we enjoyed the rooftop.
Commonwealth
