As a cover designer, maybe I shouldn't play favorites…but there are nevertheless those covers I have the most fun on or which are special to me. Here's a few of the designs I'm most proud of.
As a fantasy lover, I was so excited to design this bookish fantasy book cover! And the story is sooooo fun!! For romantasy lovers wanting a clean read set in A LIBRARY!!!!! <3 <3 <3
Misshelved Magic (The Liminal Library)
I mean…fun illustrated style, realistic sized woman, AND Rome as a setting? Yes, please! I had so much fun working on this design!
Love in the Eternal City (A Swiss Guard Romance)
Seriously one of my FAVORITE designs. That from-above angle!!! This book is a must for lovers of royal fiction and offers a unique Asian flare! From a Chinese author who was adopted by American missionary parents but still lives in China. Can't get m...
The Cost of the Crown: Royals of Andelar 1
A royal retelling of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey! Can't wait to read it! Janelle and I had so much fun coming up with the concept for this cover!
Northargyle Abbie (Royally Austen)
The sequel to The Cost of the Crown came with high expectations! Had to get that same from-above angel, but this time we went with blue as a color. Isn't it dreamy??
The Trials of the Title: Royals of Andelar 2
Royals AND a library AND Christmas?? Talk about hitting all the notes! I loved capturing the essence of this royal Christmas story in the cover (and the book was amazing too!!)
Christmas in the Castle Library
Okay, I admit it. Princess stories are my FAVORITE to design covers for!! Don't you just love the lighting in this royal retelling of the parable of the pearl of great price?
Hold Her Close (Crown of Promise Book 3)
I was SO excited when I got to design this cover with not only a gorgeous red dress, but a theater, and fun painting overlays! This is a REAL historical dress on the cover, folks! Love using public domain images to bring historical novels to life!
The Songstress (A Matter of Intrigue)
Had to keep up the artistry for book 2 in this series! Another gorgeous image of a heroine in historical garb from behind, this time with a Wild West sort of vibe! Don't you just love the big sky? *Happy sigh
The Adventuress (A Matter of Intrigue)
Guys, this book. I had fun on the cover--Persian inspiration for a dystopian Esther retelling--but I gotta say. Much as I love the design we came up with, the book is WAY better! One of my favorite reads of the year!!!
Protector (The Susa Chronicles)
One of my earlier royal cover designs, but one of my favorites! Because it just…ah! Right?? And a medieval Esther retelling to boot!
The Peasant Queen: An Esther Retelling
Have to throw a non-fic in the mix! This fun devotional uses kitchen and recipe imagery throughout, and it was such fun to design! And I gotta say, the author sent me a copy, and it is SO CUTE in person!
Tie on Your Apron in the Kitchen of Prayer
The author knew exactly what she wanted for this historical fiction cover, and I love how it turned out! This uses a public domain photograph of an actual historical house that she'd based her setting on! Isn't it breathtaking??
A Season at the Cliff House
I've designed approximately a gazillion covers for Carol Ashby's Light in the Empire Series at this point, but I have to give a shout-out to the original. Because that's where the love begins, right? Ancient world setting with faith and love!
Forgiven (Light in the Empire)
I've designed many covers for Embassie Susberry, but this is one of my favorites! Just LOVE the contrast of that red dress with the coming storm!
The Rolling Thunder
I got to design both the cover and interior of QUEST, using the author's own illustrations!! Such an amazing book full of art, wonder, and musings.
Quest: A Pilgrimage to Be Still & Know
This cover is a fun combination of stock imagery, generated images, and photographs of the author's own dog! So fun!
Moonlight on the Mississippi: A Romance
Not only a fun middle grade adventure cover…but that's my daughter on the cover! (She is, sadly, no longer that small. Sigh.)
