Ways to Promote Your Book
I have been published by traditional publishers several times but found it frustrating. The waiting for decisions ( and payments), the editing that was not checked with me, the lack of cover art choice, and giving over control of a project to the publisher. They were great, but just not quite what I imagined, so I went independent ( well, with the help of the Independent Publishing Network). The one area I have had to learn - and fast - is how to promote a book. With traditional publishers, I was hands-off, more or less, once the book was published, apart from speaking about the book or involvement in campaigns, but it was all easy. However, with independent publishing, it is a whole new thing; however, I have learned a little about how to promote, where to promote, and even when to promote. Here, then, is my guide to promoting your non-fiction book. There are many promotion sites willing ot take your money for few sales, but I found the best way is to literally, take the book to people and let them know it is out. Here's how.
