Where to Stay
A few of the hotels that we recommend staying at in town.
We love the Fairmont for so many reasons. It's located in the upper village at the foot of Blackcomb mountain. It is a short walk to the main village, and this is one of the reasons we prefer it to staying in the village. There is a pool, tons of ons...
Fairmont Château Whistler
If we're looking to stay more than just a couple of nights and have the kids with us, we like to stay somewhere with a kitchenette. The Pan Pacific (Village Centre Location) is a fantastic spot for families all year round. Located in the heart of the...
Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre
Nita Lake is a beautiful spot if you're looking to stay somewhere outside of the village. It's a wonderful location for nature walks and is still very close to the heart of the action.

Things to Do
Here are some things to do with the kiddo's that aren't skiing/snowboarding.
Our 3.5 year old can't get enough of being on the mountain all year round. He loves going up in the summer to hunt for any left over snow and hike around the alpine lakes.
Our kids love the tangle tree playground in Whistler Village. It's located near the Fresh Street Market and the Olympic Rings.
Tangle Tree Playground
Outdoor ice skating at the Village stage in the winter is a fun family experience.
Ice Skating in Whistler Village
Vallea Lumina is a magical light show in the forest. Great for slightly older kids and adults alike. It's a beautiful way to spend an evening.
Vallea Lumina
The Whistler Family Adventure Zone in the upper village is a fun fair-like set up with activities and face painting for kids.
Family Adventure Zone
Also in the upper village near the Family Adventure Zone and right outside the Fairmont is the Whistler Farmers Market.
Whistler Farmers' Market
Because the mountain opens for hiking and biking in the summer, camps and lessons for mountain biking run in conjunction. It's a great way to get out and try something new, something you've always wanted to try or something your child is interested i...
Adult & Kid's Bike Lessons in Whistler
If you're without kids or have dropped them off at bike or ski camp, the Scandinave Spa is a unique spot to spend a day relaxing in the quiet thermal pools.

Where to Eat
Family friendly and date night ideas.
Right in the heart of the village, Araxi is a great place (for the adults) to enjoy a nice lunch or dinner. The seafood tower is amazing.
Araxi Restaurant & Oyster Bar
The Bearfoot Bistro is special to me as I've celebrated some memorable occasions here. The wine room is spectacular, you can learn how to properly sabre a bottle of champagne. For vodka drinkers there's an ice tasting room, complete with complimentar...
Bearfoot Bistro
Earls is a great chain location for adults and kids alike. They do takeout also which makes it easy and they're located very close to the Whistler/Blackcomb lift making them a short walk from any of the village hotels.
Earls Kitchen + Bar
The Keg is also family friendly, good food and in a great location.
The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Whistler
The upper (Blackcomb) village doesn't have quite as many dining options as the lower village. But Milestones is a good, safe bet for the family if you're staying up at the Fairmont, Four Seasons, Chamois or the Glacier Lodge.
Milestones
Hy's is a little more upscale than the Keg, but in our experience they're always happy and accommodating to our kids despite it being more on the fine dining end.
Hy's Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar
The Mongolie Grill is like Benihana vibes in the heart of the village. There's also a movie theatre downstairs for those days where you just need a rest or the weather gets you down.
