I have these so I can use wireless headphones with my TV (I always have some show on in the background) for when I don't want to bother others in the house. You can keep this plugged in, regardless of if you are using headphones or not.
These are great at home and for travel. They make it obvious, DO NOT DISTURB. Though wireless, they also come with cords for charging and for hookup when you're on a plane that requires a plugin.
