My old dividers slid around every time I closed the drawer, which defeated the entire purpose. These lock in place and finally gave every random item a home.

Rubber bands, thumbtacks, paperclips. All the stuff that migrates to every corner of the drawer when left on its own. Containing them changed everything.

Organizing the drawer was step one. Keeping it organized with other people in the house was the real battle. Labels solved 90% of the backsliding.

Half the junk drawer problem was not having the right version of basic supplies. Cheap pens that dried out, tangled twist ties, dead flashlights. Replacing those with decent versions made the drawer actually useful.

Without a liner, everything shifts forward every time you slam the drawer shut. One afternoon of cutting and laying liner down made the whole system actually stick.
