The whole idea is that your kid becomes the teacher. She tells the doll to sit, go, wipe, flush. Something about being in charge made it way less scary for my daughter than when I was the one giving instructions.

I bought three potty chairs before finding one my daughter would sit on for more than two seconds. Turns out the shape, height, and color all matter way more than I expected.

My daughter needed the repetition. Hearing the same potty story twelve nights in a row somehow made the concept click better than any conversation I tried to have with her during the day.

Sticker charts alone didn't cut it for us. I had to layer in a few different reward strategies before finding the combo that made my daughter actually want to keep using the potty instead of reverting after day three.

The underwear itself became the motivation once we found prints she cared about. She refused to let her favorite characters get wet. Sounds silly, but that emotional connection did more than any reward chart.

Nobody talks about this part enough. You will be cleaning pee off floors, couches, car seats, and at least one place that makes zero sense. Having the right supplies ready saved my sanity more than once.

My daughter was genuinely afraid of the bathroom for a while. The echo, the flush sound, the cold seat. Making the space feel cozy and familiar turned it from a scary room into her favorite spot in the house.
