Best Bars on Gozo

As a Brit, I love pub and bar culture, and these are my favourite spots to hang out and meet with friends on Gozo. It might be they have a great view, wonderful service, tasty snacks or just a great vibe.

Best bar in Victoria. Good selection of drinks, well-priced toasties and genial service. Disclosure, you'll occasionally find my husband serving the drinks, but we loved this place before he swapped to the other side of the bar.

It's also the home, or at least one of the homes, of Pubsy, who might be Gozo's most photographed cat.

A must-visit whilst you're on Gozo. Dating back to the time of the Knights, this is the perfect place to have a sundowner while watching the ships roll in and out of Mgarr Harbour.

It also serves the best Aperol Spritz on the island.

If you want a taste of typical Gozo Village life, spend a sunny afternoon at Zeppi's Pub in Qala and watch the world go by.

A live music venue, it also hosts a great live jam session every Sunday - not to be missed!

A true gem, especially if you love Italian food and wine. Cool in summer, cozy in the winter, this is one of my go-to lunch places as well as being great for a glass, or two of wine.

A short walk from Marsalforn, Xwejni (Scwe-nee) Bay is a wonderful for swimming, snorkelling and watching the sunset.

The latter can be enjoyed with a cold drink in hand from the Crab Shell Kiosk. There's a great jam session on Wednesday nights too.

Hidden in the ancient alleyways of Victoria, you'll find Gozo's only dedicated whisky and cigar lounge. It's a great spot for that nightcap to round off the night perfectly.

It also does a killer hot chocolate.

Confusingly the Front Bar is not to be found on the front at Xlendi Bay, but rather a street back. It is worth finding, with a modern interior, very comfy couches and a generous happy hour, it's a great spot to get out of the heat during summer.

Fair warning, this bar is up a few flights of stairs but it's definitely worth the effort.

With two roof terraces, one that overlooks St George's Basilica and the other the Citadella, this cleverly named bar offers some of the best views on Gozo, along with sharing dishes and great cocktails.

Sports bars and Band clubs can be found in almost every village on Gozo. They are usually no-frills with reasonably priced drinks and food.

Gharb Rangers is no exception, and it has the bonus of an amazing view from its rear terrace.
