Our first fire pit rusted through by March and I had to toss it mid-party. Spent way too long researching before landing on ones that actually hold up through rain, snow, and weekly use.

We started with folding camping chairs and everyone's knees were at their ears. Upgrading the seating was what turned casual fires into people staying until midnight.

Around 9pm someone always says they're cold and wants to go inside. These blankets keep everyone parked around the fire instead of retreating to the couch.

Plain Swiss Miss wasn't cutting it anymore. We turned Friday hot chocolate into a whole station and honestly that's half the reason people keep showing up.

Ceramic mugs and cold nights don't mix. After I dropped my favorite mug on the patio stones and watched it explode, we switched to stuff that can survive real life.

The fire handles most of the lighting but a few strings of lights overhead turned our patio from parking lot vibes to something out of a movie. Took 30 minutes to hang.

Poking the fire with a random stick from the yard works until you burn your hand. These are the tools that made managing the fire less stressful and more fun.

Something about eating outside near flames makes everything taste twice as good. We keep a snack rotation going and nobody ever wants to eat dinner inside on Fridays anymore.

The fire heats your front but your back is still freezing. Around 10pm when the temperature really drops, these are the things that keep everyone outside instead of giving up.
