I was burning through a box of plastic bags every two weeks just on lunches and leftovers. Switching to these paid for themselves in about six weeks, and my junk drawer finally closed.

Plastic wrap was my worst habit — I'd rip off a sheet to cover half an avocado and toss it ten minutes later. These wraps stick with just the warmth of your hands and last about a year each.

We were going through a roll every three days between spills, cooking, and the dog. Felt ridiculous spending that much on something I immediately threw away.

Half my plastic wrap usage was just covering bowls. I'd stretch it over a mixing bowl, it wouldn't stick, I'd use more. These silicone lids suction on and actually stay put.

Those flimsy plastic produce bags at the store haunted me — I'd come home with eight of them holding one apple each. Now I bring my own and feel significantly less ridiculous.

Between my partner and me, we were recycling a dozen plastic water bottles a week. The recycling bin was always overflowing before trash day.

Food scraps were filling up my trash can and making it smell terrible by day three. Starting to compost cut my actual garbage output almost in half, which I genuinely didn't expect.

Kept getting plastic utensils with takeout that I'd use once and throw away. Having a set in my bag means I just say ‘no utensils’ when ordering and it feels weirdly satisfying.

Realized my cleaning supplies generated almost as much waste as my food. Plastic spray bottles, disposable wipes, sponges every week — it added up fast and I barely noticed until I did.
