Marley's travel essentials for a doggy roadtrip
Here are some of the things we take along when traveling with my dog Marley and some things we'd like to have for our next trip. Some links in my lists are affiliate links.
I travel better when I know my dog is restrained and can't jump in front while I'm driving. Also, if we were in an accident, she can't get out and run away.
These are great for traveling with your dog because they collapse down and don't take up much space.
I like to keep a towel handy in case I need to wipe my dog's feet before she gets back in the car
I bring lots of water when we travel and a portable dog water bottle is a great way to make sure she stays hydrated
You never know when an accident could happen so keep a first aid kit for your dog in the car.
Barriers are another safety option to keep dogs in the backseat where they will be safer
Car window shades will help keep your pooch cool and comfortable on sunny days
Seat protectors work great to keep dirt and fur off the fabric
We use flea and tick control at home and especially while traveling
Be a good pet parent and always, always pick up the poop! Using poop bags makes it super easy.
If your dog likes to chew, this toy should keep them going for awhile.
Kongs are great for long trips, as you can freeze some food inside and let your dog lick at it while in the car.
A travel crate or kennel is another way to keep your dog safe while riding in the car
Your dog will love a nice cozy dog bed for motels or in a tent
A reflective dog leash is a necessity if you are taking your dog outside the motel after dark.
I love this leash. It's got a flashlight for after dark walks and a poop holder. How convenient!
