Toys for Neurodiverse Kids
When buying toys for my Autistic son, I like to explore toys that will captivate him for more than a few minutes. Here are some items I have bought in the past and suggestions I think would make great gifts
These are great for play, comfort and bedtime.
As your child gets older these are a great alternative to a night light. They are calming to look at whilst in bed.
Comfort is key, it is easy to create your own comfy position with these bean bags.
Perfect when you want your own space and want to feel elevated.
This is a great console that can be used indoors or as a hand held gadget. My son has had hours of fun with his there is a wide selection of games available to buy for it.
Lego is a favourite in our house, they never grow out of it, just change the themes they are interested in.
The Star War lego creations are amazing.
Once set up these are so much fun.
My son had a set similar to this and it helped with his fine motor skills.
This is another favourite in our house and surprisingly easy to tidy up.
My son makes the most wonderful creations with Polymer clay. You can put it in the oven to harden it.
We always have a box of sensory toys in our house, they are great for distraction, fidgeting and more.
