Here is my ultimate baby must have list for small spaces. Most of these items are extremely functional and lightweight. Not only are they easy to travel with they also can be stored pretty well.
This bedside bassinet is the best! My baby was able to safely sleep next to me at night. It also alleviated a lot of my anxiety and made nighttime nursing easier.

A baby activity mat has made tummy time fun and easier. With my first I didn't have a activity mat at all but the second time around I decided to try it out and I can't be happier with my decision. They are also fairly cheap.

I personally haven't tried another baby monitor. I bought the owlet baby monitor with my first and was able to re-use it's 5 years later. It's really a great investment.
