I’d say it’s a very interesting book, it’s worth the read but it definitely isn’t for everyone! As it is historical surrounding war, death, deep emotions, with a dash of love both platonic and romantic I’d give it a 8.5/10
The Complete Poppy War Trilogy Boxed Set ...

This book is creepy in the best way—gothic mansion, strange family, and a story that slowly goes from unsettling to downright disturbing. It’s beautifully written but still very readable, with eerie vibes that stick with you after you close the book....

Fast-paced, tense, and terrifying—something out there will kill you if you look at it. The survival story mixed with parental love makes it both scary and emotional. I really enjoyed the movie too!

This is a creepy, emotional, and unsettling—a story about four Native American men haunted by a past mistake. It blends folklore, guilt, and brutal horror in a way that feels both scary and sad.
The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones

This is pure brutality. It’s about a group of friends attacked by a clan of cannibals in Maine, and it does not hold back. The violence is graphic, shocking, and relentless. If you want disturbing gore and survival horror that will leave you uneasy, ...
Off Season (Dead River, #1) by Jack Ketchum

This is a dystopian horror novel where cannibalism becomes legal after animals die out. It’s graphic, chilling, and disturbingly thought-provoking. Not just gore for shock’s sakeit really makes you question morality and society.
Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica

This one is super gory and dark, but there’s definitely a twisted romance vibe. It’s about two serial killers whose lives collide, and while it’s brutal and stomach-turning, there’s this eerie connection between them that feels like a very messed-up ...
Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite

This is a gentle Japanese novel about a café where you can time travel—but only while your coffee is still warm. It’s not heavy sci-fi at all, more about people reconnecting, healing, and cherishing small moments. Quiet, thoughtful, and a little bitt...

Soft and charming, told partly from a cat’s perspective as he goes on a road trip with his owner. It’s full of love, loyalty, and quiet moments—but also has a bittersweet edge that really tugs at the heart.
The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa

This one is devastating. It follows four college friends through adulthood, but focuses heavily on Jude, a man with a traumatic past. It’s raw, painful, and extremely emotional. The writing is beautiful, but it deals with abuse, self-harm, and recove...
