Thrillers, mysteries, horror, and wonderfully weird movies I’ve enjoyed enough to recommend. I tend to favor suspense, atmosphere, twists, and a good story over gore for the sake of gore.
The original Scream is probably my all-time favorite horror movie. Smart, funny, suspenseful, and definitely rewatchable. If you love the franchise, I also highly recommend the book What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie? Fun behind the scenes info for fan...
Scream (1996) ⭐ 7.4 | Horror, Mystery
This is one of those movies I wish I could watch for the first time again. The moment the twist was revealed, I immediately wanted to rewatch it with a completely different perspective.
The Sixth Sense (1999)
The quintessential high school spooky-season watch. Moody, witchy, a little campy, and still such a fun Halloween-season movie.
The Craft (1996)
Such a good twist. Like The Sixth Sense, the reveal completely changes how you see everything that came before it and made me want to immediately rewatch from a new perspective.
The Others (2001)
Definitely gorier than most of my favorites, but the psychological side is what makes the original Saw work for me. The tension, the puzzle-like setup, and that final twist are what I remember most.
Saw (2004)
A little cheesy, but still a really fun watch. The concept is clever, the satire is dark, and it keeps getting more ridiculous in an entertaining way.
