I wanted something with a real ring to it, not a tinny little jingle. These bells carry through the whole house and honestly make me feel like I'm running a countryside inn.

This was my sneaky workaround. Put the receiver in the living room or upstairs bedrooms, press the button from the kitchen. No yelling required. My voice has never been more grateful.

If your house already runs on Alexa or Google, why not automate the dinner call? I set up a routine that announces dinner on every speaker in the house. Felt ridiculous at first. Now I can't live without it.

Before I went full smart home, a loud kitchen timer was my go-to move. Set it, let it scream, and watch everyone wander in wondering what's burning. Spoiler: nothing's burning, dinner is just ready on time for once.

Sometimes you just want to make it silly. A gong, a funny sign, a weird noise maker. My family responds better to humor than to me sternly saying ‘food’s getting cold' for the fourth time.
