The whole routine lives or dies here. The trick with fine hair is cleansing the roots properly while keeping conditioner far away from them — everything below works on that split.

Where the actual repair happens. Fine hair breaks easily, so this is the step I skipped for years and regret — bonds and scalp health matter more than another styling product.

Heat is the fastest way to undo everything above it. These are lightweight enough not to flatten fine hair, which is the hard part — most protectants are too heavy.

Washing less is better for the ends, but fine roots don't cooperate. These are what let me stretch to day three without it being obvious.

The cheapest, least glamorous part of the routine and the one that made the most visible difference. Both of these are one-time buys.
