Some mothers reject their baby kittens (e.g., sickness, pain, weakness, stress, unsafe, inexperienced mother, too large of a litter, kitten smells different, malnourishment, lack of food/resources, environmental disruption). Regardless of the reason, if a human is able to find and adopt them these kittens become "bottle babies." This is a simple way of saying that the human has stepped up and taken over nursing duties until the kittens are old enough to eat on their own. Doing this properly requires the right supplies. Here are some suggestions we recommend at Special Little Whiskers Sanctuary.
