I have worked in Pre-School so i know the key things your child will be working on. Have a look at my ideas and selections below.
I used most of these with my child. They are brilliant and you will find most schools teach from some of these, so will give your child a great head start.

I think these are great for fine motor skills which is what a lot of KS1 is about, getting them ready for writing, reading and focusing on a task for then a few minutes at a time.

These are great, printing a face and asking your child where the body parts go. This can be so much fun and i know the kids love this, if there are a few make a game of it.

Fine motor skills are going to be key to your child, even the smallest steps can make a massive difference so starting early is always a good idea.

Reading will be a big part of your child's education and will really be used everyday in the class, from reading out loud to reading tests to see what level your child is at.

One of the topics your child may learn in year 3 is about plastics in our oceans and how this is affecting the wildlife and us.

These books on natural disasters can be great fun, your child may build a volcano or act out a twister in class so having information already in their memory can really be a benefit.

So this is the year that they will need to be able to do lots of writing, reading and spelling. The change between year 4 and 5 can seem massive, as much more is expected of them so these guides can be a really help to them.

As like English, Maths will be more targeted towards fractions, decimals, and long division.These books will help break down how these are done and will give your child time to process and this is not always the case in a busy classroom.

So Year 6 is the build up to the SATs exams, the books will help get ahead and prepare your child for these exams.

So this is the harder I feel of the SATS exams, these books can really help your child have the confidence to really understand how the questions will be written and what the markers will be looking for in the answers given.
