David Kynaston's series on post war British history is utterly compelling.
A Northern Wind: Britain 1962-65
The film is quite good, well made… but absolutely nothing compared to the book. So much better to ditch the film and loose yourself in some superb writing and a fabulous story. Loved this far more than I expected
The Time Traveler's Wife
David Kynaston is one of my favourite historians of British history. His epic series starts here and it is compelling reading. I've read this 3 times and used it extensively to inform my Inspector Vignoles Mystery series

Dad gave this to me back in 2006 and read it twice since then. Genuinely ‘different’ and a cracking good thriller that is all the better for being set in unfamiliar territory of Communist China.
The Interior
Read this as part of research for a thriller i am writing set in the early 1070's. What a fantastic book! Really different, clever, intriguing and great plot twists. Strongly recommended
