This list is for all my crocheters and knitters out there who are panicking about the closing of Joann Fabrics. I tried to find comparable yarns and brands from other retailers!

Chenille
Sweet snuggles is such a soft chenille yarn but it does SHED like crazy. While the sweet snuggles lite is having some manufacturing issues you could try out some of your projects with the larger sweet snuggles variants.
Sweet Snuggles™ Yarn by Loops & Threads
While these are labeled as chenille, this is about the same weight and texture as the bernat velvet yarns. This is slightly less fluffy, but the weight is very comparable. I have substituted this out for some of my velvet projects and it has worked up the same.
Skinny Chenille™ Multi Yarn by Loops & Threads
I have used parfait chunky to substitute for sweet snuggles lite before and I think they work up pretty similarly! I found parfait chunky slightly more difficult to work with, but I think I'm the odd man out on that, as many people LOVE this yarn. The skeins are smaller than most other yarns, so just keep that in mind as you are ordering!
Parfait® Chunky
Parfait XL is more comparable to the regular size Sweet Snuggles! One nice thing about Parfait yarn is it doesn't shed as much as sweet snuggles does.
Parfait® XL
Now these are some colors we will likely NEVER see out of sweet snuggles lite lol. These are vibrant and FUN. Perfect for anything that you need a “highlighter” bright color for.
Parfait® Chunky Neons
Another great alternative to sweet snuggles lite while we are in a drought!
Honey Bunny
Similar to the Hobbii Honey Bunny Yarn!
Toucan
Blanket
The primary source!! Yarnspirations is the brand who makes Bernat Blanket and you can buy directly from them. Due to Joann closing they currently have a lot of items out of stock and shipping times may be longer than usual, as I think this may be how many are sourcing their Bernat Blanket now.
Bernat Blanket Yarn (300g/10.5oz)
Our trusty friend Michael still sells the Bernat Blanket yarn, even if they don't have as good of a selection as Joann! Ordering from online does usually provide you with a better selection than in-stores, but you always run the risk of getting some ...
Bernat® Blanket™ Yarn
These are very similar to Bernat Blanket yarn! This could also be a replacement if you use to buy the Joann branded blanket yarn.
Basix® Chenille Brights
While slightly more expensive than Michaels or Joann this could be another place for you to source some Bernat Blanket yarrn!
Bernat Blanket Yarn
Acrylic
These GIANT skeins of acrylic yarn can be great for making things like sweaters, granny square projects, cat couches, amigurumi… Whatever your heart desires, but in JUMBO size. :)
Lion Brand® Pound of Love® Yarn
Red Heart Super Saver is a great, budget friendly yarn that can be used when you're first learning to crochet! While the texture can be somewhat rough compared to other yarns, it's very cost effective.
Red Heart® Super Saver® Solid Yarn
This could be a substitue for some of the Joann Big Twist Acrylic yarn. Big Twist was softer than this, which is more similar to a red heart super saver type yarn.
Basix® Worsted
A great alternative to the anti-pilling yarn that was available at Joann.
Anti-Pilling Everyday® Worsted
The primary source! Caron is produced by Yarnspirations, and thus you can get it directly on their website.
Caron Simply Soft Yarn
Cotton
The primary source!! Yarnspiration is the manufacturer of Lily Sugar and Cream yarn so this is where you can find all the colors available!
Lily Sugar'n Cream The Original Yarn
While Michael's did get rid of all their Lily Sugar and Cream Cotton Yarn in store, you can still find it on their website! This is a great cotton yarn for making things like bags and dish cloths. It does tend to be rougher than other cotton yarns, but it's a great and durable option for heavy use items.
Lily® Sugar 'n Cream® Solid Yarn
This is another great option for cotton yarn with a variety of colors! This one is slightly softer than the Lily Sugar and Cream.
Lion Brand® 24/7 Cotton® Yarn
Michael's recently replaced their Lily Sugar and Cream selection with their own Loops & Thread brand in-store! So if you are looking for some cotton yarn in a pinch, you can find their brand in-stores!
Classic Cotton™ Yarn by Loops & Threads
This is hands down my favorite cotton yarn! I love the texture and how easy it is to work with. I have made a full sweater out of this, as well as a puff flower purse and both turned out so beautiful. Highly suggest this if you are looking for a good cotton yarn for wearables!
Lion Brand® Tom Daley Made with Love™ The Cottony ...
Wool-Ish / Wool Blends
This wool ease thick and quick was one of my go-to's in Joann, as it's great for making hats and scarves! This was also a fan favorite for making chunky pumpkins in the fall.
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® Solid Yarn
100% Wool
I've used this to make a few granny square sweaters and it was very easy to use. I like the size of the balls, as they are easier to work with than larger skeins. When making a sweater for my sister she wanted it to be 100% wool and I found that this was the most cost effective pure wool available in a decent amount of colors.
Stitch Please™ Superwash Chunky
TOOLS
While I have not personally used these hooks, I know they are a favorite among many crocheters. You can buy these directly from Yarnspirations!
