This desk mat has saved me more than a few times. I have used it and spilt something on my desk - so the clen up was just throw it in the washing machine. It keeps my desk clear of water rings, and I can change it out when I need a change.

This is not a necessity, but I do think it is necessary to keep your desk area clean and professional - even when its cold outside!

I have found it is SOO important to have a notebook next to me to jot down notes so that as things come up - I can write them down.
