I recommend a visit to Basel due to its highly compact layout and scenic riverside promenades, making it a fantastic city for walking.  The city's compact design allows visitors to comfortably discover world-class art galleries, activities with very little effort.  Just keep in mind, that although there is a great Tram/Bus system, you can pretty much walk anywhere in Basel to everything that it has to offer.   It is a small big city!
