Places to Stay
I highly recommend staying in one of the homes in Salem through VRBO. We staying in a gorgeous 1739 home right by the House of Seven Gables.
Vrbo
It's haunted. That's all I have to say!
Hawthorne Hotel
Also haunted however this is a 19th century hotel and is not from the witch trial era.
The Salem Inn
Places to eat
Higly recommended. We ate breakfast here every day and it is right by the Bewitched statue
Ugly Mug Diner
This is a list of all of the restaurants in town. Salem is very walkable so you can park you car at your Air BnB or hotel and walk!

Tours
Amazing tour and fabulous grounds. It's simply beautiful right next to the water!
The House of the Seven Gables
A little kitschy for me but we still enjoyed the show. There isn't anything historic about this building.
Salem Witch Museum
The tour and home are really great. There weren't any trials here but it is one of the original buildings.
The Witch House at Salem
It is really beautiful right by the warf and we got plenty of pics by the boat there.
Salem Maritime National Historic Site
This cemetery has the only Mayflower rider on the grounds. It was really fascinating to walk through it. Please review the hours BEFORE you go as it closed early when we were there.
The Burying Point
This is the original church in Salem and the building is great for a true historian!
First Church in Salem
This house has a 24 hour garden behind it and in the summer it is beautiful.
Hocus Pocus Shoot Location: Allison's House
Hocus Pocus has filmed here. The whole downtown has a vibe!
Old Town Hall - Salemma.gov
Definitely a must see. It isn't the original but it is a replica of what it looked like during the trials.
Salem Pioneer Village
Yes you have to have a haunted ghost tour in Salem when you go. It's a must!
Salem Ghost Tours | #1 Rated Nightly Ghost Tours
Historians believe that this is the place where the innocent were hung. This memorial is not really advertised and you cannot be up there after dark.
Proctor's Ledge Memorial
Guide Books
I strongly recommend a guide book based on the time of year you go. I went in June and it was lovely. When you go to Salem in September and October, prices are higher and there are a lot more people there. A Guide book will help you navigate it while you are staying.
Discover Salem: A Tour Guide for The Witch City
Another great guide book that helps with Budgeting. I did the trip really inexpensively and we stayed at a beautiful Air BNB. But if you are going during the fall season, you will pay a lot more.
