I've been in Atlanta for almost 13 years now and these are my top Italian and pizza restaurants in and around the city!

My favorite Italian places around town
Amazing fresh pasta spot (small and cozy!); I get the cacio e pepe every time. The burrata appetizer is incredible and their mocktails are delicious. Note: Their parking lot is incredibly small, so you'll be better off parking on a side street.
a mano
I know this is a chain but their meatballs are INSANE and the fresh pasta and tiramisu are incredible. There are 2 locations; I've included the one in the city.
Atlanta, GA (Buckhead) | North Italia
What a special experience to dine here! It's family owned, everything is prepared fresh and homemade and after a certain time, music comes on and it turns into a party. The vodka gnocchi is not to be missed! They also have themes for different times of the year.
Italian Restaurant | Amore e Amore | Atlanta
THEY HAVE A MOZZARELLA TASTING PLATTER. I don't think I have to say anymore. All pastas are also made fresh in house. If you love cheese though, come here.
Bastone
Reasonably priced fresh, homemade pasta! I love their burrata and chicken piccata. The outside area is super cute too (dog friendly!)
Paolino Italian Restaurant - Italian Restaurant in Decatur, GA
My husband was so confused when the lasagna came out because the presentation was in a cast iron dish with super melty cheese and not just plopped on a plate. He said it was delicious! I always get the pappardelle (fresh pasta)--this is a forgotten spot!
Double Zero
Heads up that this is a bit on the pricey side but it is true, authentic Italian and you'll feel like you're in the Northeast! We go for special occasions. The lasagna and gnocchi are so good!
Nino's Italian Restaurant, Atlanta GA | Nino's Cucina Italiana
Pizza
Pizza needs to have its own list.
Delicious thin crust, Naples style pizza. Our favorite is the San Gennaro. Heads up: You can't customize or substitute; the pizza comes as is.
Antico - Little Italia
There are a few locations around town; this one is in Chamblee; a little bit outside of the city. Everything is super fresh (again, thin crust) but don't forget about the other options they offer; the chicken piccata is delicious.
Vintage Pizzeria - Chamblee
Wood fired pizza (thin crust) about 10 miles outside of the city in Tucker, GA. It's a very cozy, homey feel inside (think Midwest) with delicious food.
Shorty's Tucker
There are 2 locations in the city; one in Midtown and the one I've linked here in Krog Street Market. The dough is made fresh daily (thin crust) and the tomatoes, sea salt, olive oil and flour are shipped directly from Naples. The mozzarella sticks and the Bastardo pizza plus the arugula salad are a can't miss!
Krog Market - Varuni
We are neither vegan or vegetarian but this place is DELICIOUS. They have so many different types of pizza (you can get gluten free as well).
PLANT BASED PIZZERIA
They have thin crust but also..Detroit style! For thin crust, we love the Italian Stallion but the Detroit style Noni is incredible. Don't miss their chopped salad; the house made dressing is what makes it.
Pielands Sub & Slice - Atlanta's Favorite Neighborhood Pizzeria
