Don't even think about cotton socks. These dry quickly and provide the right amount of cushion.

Try a few before you go to see which ones you like best. A hot meal after a long day of hiking is a must.
Mountain House Meals - Freeze Dried Entrees
Yes. The squirrels are relentless. So are the crows and the stray dogs. You WILL need this. We had a crow fly off with a cappuccino packet.
RATSACK Ratsack
Sleeping in a hammock is the most peaceful sleep ever. The bugs aren't bad down there but I didnt want creepy crawlies and this gave me peace of mind. And yes, you can side sleep.

I took 2.5 liters in/out and didn't finish it all either time. But you will need this. Some of you will need this plus more. But a water bladder is a must.

Yes, I used this and yes I was thrilled to have it. Not only great for when you have to go during the hike but there isn't always toilet paper in the campground restrooms.

Fill this up at Fern Spring and haul back to camp. This will save you a ton of trips back and forth filling smaller water bottles. You'll need water for most freeze dried meals.
Collapsible Water Jug
A must have for cooking. Heats your water up quickly. Do not go without one.
