The best Italian restaurant in Northwest Indiana is hiding on Washington Street. Locals love it, visitors can’t find it because Albanos’ Pasta Shop is hiding behind another name on the door but rest assured you’re at the right spot when you see Pasta Daddy Nick Albano in the kitchen that’s fully visible from the dining area. Start off with some delicious airy focaccia with pasta sauce and olive oil. You can’t go wrong with your choice of entree but my favorite is the gigantic portion of the short rib tortellini and don’t forget to end your meal with some of Mommy Mom’s seasonal cheesecake. Everything at Albano’s is homemade from scratch with love and many things can be made gluten free so be sure to ask if you need to. Mangia!
