The best book I've found for figuring out what each transit means. It's especially good for the big ones like Saturn Return and all of the mid-life transits.

This book gives so much good information in a very easy to understand format.
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Astrology, 4th Ed.
She is THICK. This is a heavy duty, textbook style course in Hellenistic Astrology. It is an excellent read if you're into serious learning.
Hellenistic Astrology: Study of Fate and Fortune
This book is so well researched. It focuses on the energies of different planetary combinations and what they mean. Very good for the more advanced student.

This one is specific to how to understand and work with T-Square aspects in your natal chart and through transits.

A different approach to astrology. It focuses on the potential in your birth chart, and what experiences your chart shows you need to go through in order to achieve that potential. Excellent read for those trying to figure out who they are and what they're meant to achieve, through astrology.

This book includes the positive and negative traits that can be associated with each sign and planet combination. It's excellent for seeing issues within yourself that you may want to change.
Do It Yourself Astrology: Guide to Personality
I absolutely devoured this book. It's written in a friendly, conversational way and it's very easy to understand the concepts presented. Excellent book for beginners or more advanced students.
