I did New York on a budget… let me show you how I spent 1 week in Manhattan for $1000
Ok so I used Expedia to find a flight and hotel for a week in Manhattan on a solo journey to meet long time internet friends for the week I paid just over $500 you can't beat it. So the other $500 was used for food souvenirs and experiences.

This is where I stayed. I did end up upgrading to the queen suite but it was only 60 more a night. Worth it if your not the hostel stay type... the cafe downstairs for breakfast was delectable and affordable.

Awesome place for a pint or some food great prices for being right in the city. Within walking distance to Pod 51.
Murphys Irish Pub
The absolute best pizza in New York hands down, also a great way to eat authentic New York style pizza on a budget!!
Joe's Pizza
Used this a lot to go see my best friend in Jersey. Probably the most affordable way to traverse to and from the city
NJ Transit
I loved going here and getting snacks and stuff to nosh on so I could keep my dining budget down
Grand Central Market
Some of the best shopping within walking distance of Pod 51. I bought perfume and lotions from Victoria Secret in Park Ave made my room smell Devine lol it was such a fun trip..
Park Avenue - Northridge Mall
You have to spend an afternoon in the park while in New York. It’s not a trip unless you go at least once.
