Staying here was a dream. Each bamboo house has its own character, and falling asleep to the sound of the Ayung River was incredibly grounding. It’s eco-luxury at its best.
Bambu Indah Resort, Ubud
The ultimate splurge. I loved how they integrated the resort into active rice paddies. The 24-hour butler service made me feel like royalty in the heart of the jungle.
Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve - Ubud
My go-to for a creative vibe. It’s right in the center of Seminyak’s energy but feels like a private sustainable sanctuary. The industrial-meets-tropical design is genius.
DESA POTATO HEAD BALI
I fell in love with the brutalist aesthetic here. It’s more than a hotel; it’s an art gallery. Perfect if you want to be close to the surf but crave a sophisticated, quiet space.
The Slow, Canggu
The most iconic infinity pool I’ve ever seen. Standing in the sunset cabana overlooking the Indian Ocean is a memory I’ll keep forever. Minimalist perfection.

The wellness programs here are top-tier. I spent my mornings with a clifftop yoga session and my evenings watching the stars from my private pool. Pure serenity.

Beyond the beaches, Bali’s soul lies in its temples and hidden natural gems. These are the spots that took my breath away.
I suggest arriving before 8 AM. Walking through the emerald layers before the crowds arrived was a spiritual experience. The 'Subak' irrigation system is a marvel.
Tegalalang Rice Terrace
I participated in the Melukat purification ritual here. The cold spring water and the scent of incense created an atmosphere of deep peace that I’ve never felt elsewhere.
Tirta Empul Temple Tour with Purification Experience
The Kecak Fire Dance at sunset is non-negotiable. Seeing the dancers perform on the cliff’s edge with the orange sky behind them gave me goosebumps.

My favorite white sand beach. The drive down through the limestone cliffs is dramatic, and the water is some of the clearest I’ve found on the main island.

I made sure to arrive an hour before sunset to find the perfect spot. Seeing the temple isolated by the rising tide against a fiery Balinese sky was one of the most serene moments of my trip. It truly feels like a sacred monument guarding the ocean.

The hike down is steep, but that 'T-Rex' view from the top is absolutely worth it. It’s one of those places that makes you realize how magnificent nature is.

[NON-HALAL / SERVES ALCOHOL] The Japanese-Latin fusion is surprisingly brilliant. I sat at the bar for a sunset cocktail and stayed for the spicy tuna tacos. The valley view is unbeatable.

[HALAL-FRIENDLY] This is the taste of authentic Bali for me. Their chicken satay and spicy 'betutu' flavors are so aromatic. Simple, honest, and legendary.
NASI AYAM KEDEWATAN IBU MANGKU, Ubud
[FINE DINING / SERVES ALCOHOL] A mind-blowing 100% Indonesian ingredient experience. Every course was a story. It’s not just dinner; it’s an education in Javanese and Balinese flora.
LOCAVORE NXT, Lodtunduh
[VEGAN / PLANT-BASED] Even as a non-vegan, I was impressed. Their smoothie bowls are works of art, and the 'Buffalo Wings' made from cauliflower are a revelation.
KYND COMMUNITY SEMINYAK
[HALAL-FRIENDLY] They only serve one menu: fried fish and fish head soup. I’ve been coming here for years, and the quality has never changed. Simple and perfect.

Bhineka Djaja (Kopi Bali)
