Fun adventure book
Shantaram
A classic but not boring at all
Lonesome Dove
Weird in a good way and definitely funny
Nothing to See Here
Also a TV show, but the book is better.
The Power
Long, but so good (especially if you're interested in Appalachia)
Demon Copperhead
So good, and based on an American First Lady (took me a bit to guess who).
American Wife: A Novel (Random House)
True account of being lost at sea for 438 days. Not boring at all.
438 Days: True Story of Survival at Sea
Read a while ago but it's def worth a read
Educated
Will probably make you interested in WW2 more
The Tattooist of Auschwitz
Great if you want more after Tattooist of Auschwitz
Cilka's Journey: A Novel (Tattooist 2)
Amazing true story
Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness
I read The White Tiger before my trip to India, and it provided a gripping insight into the complexities of Indian society. While not heartwarming, its raw portrayal of ambition and class struggle made for a fascinating and thought-provoking read.
The White Tiger
Beautifully written and gives you a deep dive into Nigeria's history while keeping you hooked the whole time!
Half of a Yellow Sun
I loved the whole series, but they can get a little slow. Still, really lovely to read -especially prior to a trip to Italy!
