6 years in DC, so many recs, so little time! I hope this can help narrow down some of (what I think are) the top places in the city!

Food
One of my favorite places to eat in DC. Whether it's a quick happy hour with friends or a full sit down dinner on a night out, I always enjoy the service and food!
Mi Vida: Home - Washington, DC
Arguably the BEST bottomless brunch in DC! It’s affordable, there are nearly endless options, and the spaces are so cute! A go to for a group brunch or even just a date!
Best European restaurant in Capitol Hill, Washington, DC
Some of my FAVORITE Indian food in DC! I highly reccomend either the Chicken Tikka Masala or the Butter Chicken!
Indigo
Incredible French food, exquisite ambiance. Super cool “secret” phone free bar upstairs. Such a great night out all around.
Minetta Tavern DC
Another top Indian rec! I’ve never had a bad meal here - the service is wonderful and the food is delicious!

A beautiful, waterfront dining experience! The lobster scampi is to DIE for!
Sequoia DC
There are a couple contenders for DC’s best cupcake, but to me, this is hands down the winner! They’re a great size, so flavorful, and always perfectly moist and delicious!
Baked & Wired
One of the cutest little cafes and hangout spots in the city! They have a wonderful menu and even better vibes
Big Bear Cafe
Such a wonderful marketplace with amazing food and good vibes! My personal favorite food to get here are the pupusas!
La Cosecha, Latin Marketplace
There are a few locations, but I love Kaldi’s for camping out and getting some work done!

Theater in DC has been QUITE the subject of conversation lately. I’ve been coming to the National for 5 years now and am so thankful to have a place like this to continue supporting the arts in these difficult times
The National Theatre: Home
A top museum rec! I feel that because it’s not a Smithsonian, it probably gets passed over a decent amount, but I absolutely loved it. Growing up in an arts household, and being a raging feminist, I loved seeing a female artist centered space!
National Museum of Women in the Arts
Such a fun date night spot or even just an outing with friends! We did an unlimited play session and got to do all the courses as much as we wanted!
Puttery | Mini Golf, Dining, Craft Drinks & Group Events
I’m a big fan of thought provoking contemporary art, and that’s exactly what the Hirshorn brings! I’ve seen some incredible shows here, and their permanent collection is stunning too!
Hirshhorn Museum
I’m a big fan of going to the movies, but Alamo makes it so much more than that! With fun pre shows and delicious full meals and drinks, it’s more than a popcorn and candy experience (although they have that too!)
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema DC Bryant Street
The Union Market district in DC is so lovely - lots of restaurants and shops in the general vicinity, and even more inside the market itself!
Union Market
As an avid concert goer, the Anthem is probably my top venue in DC! It’s nice and spacious with lots of GA standing options, so you can almost always guarantee a good view!
The Anthem
Another one of my top concert venues! It’s a great sized space with a ton of great views!
