Velcro trainers were a god send when my son was growing up as due to his lack of hand/eye co ordination he really struggled to tie laces.

Slip on trainers were another huge help when looking for shoes for my son. These would help with his independance.

These were another brand of trainers that my son liked to wear with the velcro fastening.

Zip up hoodies were always preferable to overhead sweaters as they were much easier to put on and take off.
