My first LBTQ book and it was SO GOOD.
Aristotle and Dante Discover Secrets
Makes you look at death and grief differently while understanding the main characters understanding of love.
Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune
Beautifully written!! It makes you feel emotions for all the characters, I didn’t expect to shed tears but it was so moving at the end. Probably my top read for 2025
The House in the Cerulean Sea (Cerulean Chronicles, #1) by T.J. Klune
Even though I knew the ending wasn’t going to be happy it still made me cry
They Both Die at the End (Death-Cast, #1) by Adam Silvera
Murder mystery
It was hard to know who was lying and who wasn’t. Really interesting twist- couldn’t put it down.
Verity
You will either figure it out right away or flip at it so quick to try to find out the truth. Either way, it’s interesting to see both POV from the husband and wife. It makes you feel emotions for both so that you don’t see the twist coming.
The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose
If you are an avid podcaster, this is a great addition to the mystery books you must read. Easy read!
Listen for the Lie: A Novel by Amy Tintera
Of course I have this and five more of her books. This one got me out of my slump and still her best out of the series.
The Housemaid #1 - Freida McFadden
Latinx authors
Honestly I haven’t finished it! But it’s a beautiful cover.
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
A STAPLE in my library. I read it every few years but Sandra Cisneros is a favorite author of mine.
The House on Mango Street - Sandra Cisneros: Books
The first book I read in Spanish. Heartbreaking and true, but raw. I’ve had my high school edition, I will never let this book go. It’s about a child’s recollection of growing up in a family where they all pick fruit.
Senderos fronterizos: Breaking Through Spanish
This book was ESSENTIAL to my life growing up. It’s an actual novela!! I read it in Spanish and English, watched the original movie; and the HBO series. ALL ARE GREAT but you have to start with this one!!!!
Como agua para chocolate (Spanish Edition)
Books that I think about often
It is about a girl who compares her size to a whale. It’s messed up and sad and I wish I could read it again after a quick memory swipe.
She's Come Undone (Oprah's Book Club)
I sometimes imagine a world without color to appreciate the world around me now. My #1 favorite book.
The Giver (The Giver, #1) by Lois Lowry - Goodreads
Not everyone will get this one- if you do. We are friends.
Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
Got it as a physical book but ended up listening to the audiobook because you can’t beat hearing it in his voice! Really entertaining and I think about his take on life constantly.
Greenlights: McConaughey, Matthew: 9780593139134
Probably the first book I read about mental illness and how it affects families. I’ve read it many times.
The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
I mean ?? Hello??
Fahrenheit 451: Ray Bradbury: 9781451673319
I wish I could say that I love this book, I can’t say that, but it’s definitely one that affected me and I think about randomly
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
A gem of a book. Goes over grief, love, family, and loneliness. The funny octopus is a beautiful treat in between the sadness. Once you figure out the connection you get hooked!
