My Literary Staples
The books that made their way into my personal collection and stayed there.
It’s a long one, but I never felt like I was reading just to get through it. One of the greatest book of all time!
The Count of Monte Cristo (Penguin Classics)
I loved how much personality Jane has throughout the story. It feels so personal and the atmosphere made it easy for me to get completely absorbed in her world.
Jane Eyre (Penguin Classics)
I grew so attached to the March sisters while reading this. It has such a warm, familiar feeling, and I loved how each of them felt so different while still making the story feel like home.
Little Women
Tess’s story really stayed with me. It’s quietly heartbreaking, beautifully written, and definitely one I won’t forget.
Tess of the D'Urbervilles (Penguin Classics)
Into Dostoevsky
A small collection for my Dostoevsky phase. Heavy themes, complicated characters, and stories that somehow stay in my head long after I finished them.
This one took me a while to get through, but I’m glad I gave it the time. The writing gets so deep into the characters’ thoughts.
Crime and Punishment: Fyodor Dostoevsky
I took my time with this one, but the characters made it worth it. There’s something about Dostoevsky’s writing that makes even the quiet moments feel so loaded.
The Idiot (Penguin Classics)
There’s so much happening beneath the surface of this book that I found myself thinking about it even when I wasn’t reading.
The Brothers Karamazov: Dostoevsky, Fyodor
This was probably the Dostoevsky book I had to sit with the most. It’s intense, complicated, and full of characters I couldn’t quite figure out, which made the whole reading experience strangely addictive.
Demons: A Novel in Three Parts
For Jane Austen readers
My Jane Austen shelf. Witty heroines, complicated feelings, slow-burn romances, and characters I somehow never get tired of reading about.
I completely understand why this one is still so loved. The wit, tension, and chemistry between Elizabeth and Darcy made it such an enjoyable read for me.
Pride and Prejudice: Austen, Jane, Jones
Emma had me smiling more than I expected.
Emma: 9788172345303: Austen, Jane: Books
I really enjoyed the contrast between Elinor and Marianne. Their different ways of handling love and life made this feel surprisingly personal.
Sense and Sensibility (Penguin Classics)
Fanny’s quiet strength grew on me as I read. It’s a slower Austen, but I really liked the subtle character dynamics and all the little tensions underneath.
Mansfield Park - Jane Austen
There’s something so quietly beautiful about this one. I loved the maturity of the romance and how much emotion sits beneath all the restraint.
Persuasion (Penguin Classics)
I loved how playful Austen is with the whole gothic-romance obsession while still giving Catherine a story of her own.
