My kids and LOVE this park! It has something for everyone. The playground area is fully fenced in with astroturf. Outside of the playground area is a large field and a stream. There are even some decent bathrooms!

A huge state park right at our back door! Oak mountain state park has hiking and biking trails, golf, horseback riding, a “beach”, a bird sanctuary, and so much more. Get a membership if you go frequently!
Oak Mountain State Park
I absolutely love to bring my kids here. It’s free to get in, so it’s a great place for picnics, stopping to smell the roses, and letting little ones run free. There’s also a cafe and a plant store on site.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Another one that’s great for all ages and FREE! The splash pad is huge and clean and a lot of fun, with a giant playground adjacent, plus green space. Make sure to pack sunscreen and sun hats because the splash pad is not shaded.
Pelham Splash Pad
This is our local neighborhood park. A great green space where you’ll see lots of teams practicing various sports. There are also several pickleball courts and a playground. I love to take my kids on walks on the trail around the park.

I craved the Italian sandwich here like CRAZY when I pregnant with my second. It is SO good. I’ve branched out and tried other sandwiches they offer and they’ve all been fantastic. You can order to pick up and have it ready when you pull in!

A lot of options at this community center. I’ve taken exercise classes, used the gym, and taken my kids to the giant pool. There’s also a large kiddie pool!

I love this bookstore! They have coffee, a used book program buy/sell program, membership discounts, and tons of story time events for kids.

Atheena gives a fantastic massage. I’ve been seeing her for years. She also has a lot of other wellness options, but I’m mostly a massage customer.

I’ve gotten several massages here and can generally book pretty last minute, which is nice when you’re suddenly child free and didn’t plan for it. Ask for a face, head, and neck massage. You won’t regret it!
